Doctem – Introduction & Installation

Doctem is a super simple and user-friendly WordPress theme for you to create online documentation template which can help you rapidly develop your next software’s documentation. It comes with a simple design and puts its focus on readability and functionality. Additionally, Elementor compatability allows you to create any layout you want for your website.

How to install Martha Theme?

To install the theme correctly, after downloading the theme package from Themeforest, you need to Unzip the package. There are folders inside.

You can install the theme via WordPress Admin or FTP

Install Theme via WordPress Admin

  1. Navigate to Appearances--> Themes
  2. Click Add New button and then hit the Upload Theme button
  3. Click on Browser to upload doctem.zip in Theme folder and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate to activate the installed themes.

Install Theme via FTP

  1. Unzip doctem.zip in theme folder of theme package.
  2. Upload the extracted folder in previous step into /wp-content / themes/.
  3. To activate the theme, go to Appearances --> Themes> and activate it.

How to install plugins

  1. It requires you to Activate the license before installing plugins and importing demo content.
  2. After that, open Demo Importer tab.
  3. Open any home page you want to import.
  4. Check All Plugins option to choose all plugins.
  5. Click Install Selected to start installing and activating plugins.
  6. The process may take few seconds. Please be patient!

 

Doctem – Menus

Main Menu

Step 1: Go to Appearance > Menus to create the main menu.

Step 2: Assign the Main Menu to one of Menu locations: Header Menu, Primary Menu, Footer Menu

Step 3: Navigate to Doctem Options > Setting > Header, select Site Menu which should be Menu Location which you assign the main menu to in Step 2.  

In case you create any special template styles, you go to the corresponding template and configure in Header option. 

Left Sidebar Menu

Step 1: Create a menu in Appearance > Menus

Step 2: Go to Appearance > Widgets > Add Navigation Menu widget to Left Sidebar 

Off-canvas Menu

Step 1: Create a menu in Appearance > Menus

Step 2: Navigate to Doctem Options > Settings > Header option > Off-canvas Menu to enable this menu type and set up a menu.

 

Doctem – Light/Dark Version & Language Switcher

To configure Dark version, you navigate to Doctem Options > Settings > Dark Color.

Doctem – Home

In this theme, we are going to use Elementor to build pages, so before creating your home page, make sure that you have this plugin installed.

Follow steps below to start building the Home page:

Step 1: Go to Pages > Add New to create a new page

Step 2: In the Templaza Options, select Home style. This template style is created in Dashboard > Doctem Options

Step 3: Click on Edit with Elementor 

Step 4: Start adding blocks to your page. Drag blocks on the left side and drop them on the right side. Blocks are listed below:
